Shhhhhht!
It’s “Silent Saturday” as we call it in Dutch, or Holy Saturday before Easter. Traditionally the bells in churches don’t ring, so in Flanders they fly to Rome to pick up the chocolate Easter eggs, which they drop in the garden on Easter Sunday, ringing all the way. That is quite a few households less to worry about for the poor Easter bunny who’s doing overtime on Easter Sunday!
Nothin much happened today. I think that malaise (as in the original “un-ease”) is setting in. I am itchy to go somewhere. Or at least to do something else. In so many ways I am done with the semester, but the semester isn’t done with me yet. The one silver lining is the student projects: what I have seen is interesting and I want to spend time on those. Just as well, because this Easter Break is big time catch up for me on giving feedback. That is the major advantage of designing assignments that I actually want to look at, and that is something I already did before we had to deploy #PandemicPedagogy. Make it fun, and it gets done!
