5 weeks
At least some things get done:
With the decision to make week 14 optional, I feel a lot less stressed. I still have to put stuff on the course sites, and give feedback on the next stage of the projects, but I feel a lot calmer about the teaching side of things. That makes it a good decision in my books.
Today there was a run-walk, flute, hoovering and tidying up, helping William to finish the jigsaw, and some healthy greens for dinner. It was almost a normal Saturday. I seem to be getting used to this.
There is just one thing: a craving for something crunch or crispy that I haven’t been able to satisfy for about a week now. I read advice from a man who lived through the Wuhan lockdown, and he said to make sure you have your favourite snacks on hand. He spoke wise words, indeed! I could bake biscuits, or pop some corn, but it’s not the same. Some crackers to go with the cheese and last of the Belgian pickles would be lovely, too. But I am hesitant to stock up on crisps and biscuits. I tend not to get these things in the house in large quantities for they are dangerous and must be eliminated as quickly as possible! So I usually buy small quantities, to limit the damage. But now that means leaving two weeks between mini snacks, because I dread going to the supermarket more frequently. Pick-up isn’t a solution either: the waiting times are ridiculous here and I don’t want to take up slots that people with health issues actually need. So nothing crunchy for a few more days. And that’s the difference with what used to be a normal Saturday.
